Class 6 Assembly Brings Biodiversity and Wildlife to the Big Stage

On the morning of May 13th, 2026, the auditorium at GIIS KL buzzed with excitement as students of Class 6 gathered for a vibrant and educational Combined Assembly. The event was designed to blend the core values of the school's 9GEMS framework, specifically focusing on Visual and Performing Arts, alongside Innovation and Creativity, with critical global issues aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Responsible Consumption and Production, Life Below Water, and Life on Land. Guided by their dedicated class teachers, Ms. Puja Mukherjee, Ms. Prachi Soni, and Ms. Megha Jha, all the students of classes 6A, 6B, and 6C put together an unforgettable series of presentations centered on environmental conservation and awareness.

The assembly commenced with Class 6A, who took the stage to highlight the International Day of Biodiversity. Guided by their emcees, the students delivered an informative presentation defining biodiversity and illustrating its critical importance to our planet's survival. Adding a creative flare to their message, a talented group of students then performed an expressive dance dedicated to nature's variety. Their presentation concluded with a moving musical piece centered on the theme of saving Mother Earth, which left the audience deeply reflective.

Shifting the focus from terrestrial ecosystems to marine life, Class 6B brought immense creativity to the stage in honor of World Turtle Day. The highlights of their performance included a highly imaginative and educational interview with a turtle. One student, delightfully dressed as a sea turtle, answered questions from her peers about the challenges of marine life and the daily realities of ocean creatures. Accompanying this performance, another group of artistic students took the stage with hand-crafted placards, visually reminding the audience of the urgent need to protect marine environments.

The theme of wildlife conservation continued seamlessly with Class 6C's presentation on World Otter Day. Set against a beautifully crafted thematic backdrop, the students first showcased their musical talents. Following the performance, the emcees shifted the energy in the auditorium by hosting an interactive, five-question quiz about otters, testing the audience on what kind of animals they are and the ecological roles they play. The audience of peers participated enthusiastically, shouting out answers and turning the assembly into an active learning experience.

The successful event drew to a close with inspiring words from the Principal Ms. Dipti Joshna,  who commended the young learners for their confidence and creative execution. The assembly concluded with a hearty round of appreciation for all the Class 6 students and their teachers, celebrating a wonderful morning that perfectly balanced artistic expression with a powerful message of global citizenship.
